Accused Upper Gwynedd Fire Co. Embezzler of $250,000 Waives Hearing

Ronald Kenneth "Ken" Nolan, 62, allegedly embezzled the money over a six-year period. Nolan was also contracted as the township fire marshal.

Former Upper Gwynedd Fire Co. treasurer Ronald Kenneth "Ken" Nolan, 62, waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Robert Sobeck in Blue Bell, per the Associated Press.
A formal arraignment at Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas is set for Oct. 23.
Nolan, who was also contracted as the Upper Gwyendd Township fire marshal, allegedly took out cash advances from the fire department's account between 2006 and 2012 to pay for trips to China, Jamaica, Miami and Las Vegas, and to fund his daughter's 2006 Las Vegas wedding, which included airfare for guests. Nolan also allegedly gambled close to $196,000 of fire department money in Las Vegas.
