One day after Lansdale Police went public with their search for a 28-year-old man who was wanted on corruption of minor charges, the suspect has been located.
Teugie Lamont Askew was arrested Tuesday evening without incident, police said.
On Monday, Lansdale police announced they were seeking Askew, 28, after an incriminating video was discovered of him in his East Main Street apartment with several intoxicated teenage girls.
Askew’s picture was shared on Facebook by police and went viral, attracting attention from various media outlets. “After over 15,000 views and 345 shares, Teugie Askew is now in police custody,” Lansdale Police announced on Facebook.
Police said he was arrested after officers responded to the 100 Block of East Main Street for a reported disturbance. When they arrived, they found Askew on location and took him into custody without incident.
Police began searching for Askew after parents of several teenage girls under the age of 14 came to them because they found a cellphone video that showed the teens intoxicated at Askew’s apartment on June 6.
The video shows that Askew was with the teens and was aware they were intoxicated from drinking alcohol and using cough medicine, according to authorities.
