Alleged Lansdale Child Rapist Heads to Trial

Samuel Benjamin Arthur, 41, of an apartment on the 300 block of York Avenue, allegedly repeatedly sexually assaulted a 5-year-old girl in December 2011 while she lived at his apartment.

A Lansdale man charged with 54 offenses—including 11 felonies— in the alleged repeated rape of a 5-year-old girl in December 2011 waived all charges against him to Montgomery County trial last week in Lansdale District Court, according to Michael Goldberg of The Reporter.

Samuel Benjamin Arthur, 41, of an apartment on the 300 block of York Avenue, is charged with, to name a few offenses, two felony counts of rape of a child; two felony counts of rape by forcible compulsion; two felony counts of statutory sexual assault; and five felony counts of aggravated indecent assault of a child, according to court records.

When interviewed by police in February 2013, the girl, now seven, told detectives Arthur had raped her five different times while living at his apartment, according to Goldberg. Arthur allegedly told the girl that it was their “secret” and he would “kill her if she told anyone,” according to the article.
