Bank Robbery at Knapp Road Giant, Robber Has Acne Scars, Police Say

No one was injured in the robbery of Citizens Bank inside Giant Food Store in Montgomery Township Wednesday afternoon. Police are seeking a white male in his 20s, who has a bad facial complexion and who was wearing a North Face jacket.

Montgomery Township Police are looking for a bank robber with a bad complexion.

Montgomery Township Police said the robber in Wednesday afternoon's bank robbery of Citizens Bank inside Giant Food Store at 1201 Knapp Road is described as a white male in his early 20s, with brown hair, 5-foot-7, 140 pounds with a slender build.

The robber was wearing blue jeans, white sneakers and a black North Face jacket with a black hooded sweatshirt pulled up over his head, police said.

He has a poor complexion with acne scars on his face, police said.

The bank was robbed around 12:18 p.m.

Police said the man acted alone. He approached the teller at the counter and demanded money, police said. He implied he had a weapon, police said, but nothing was shown to the teller.

The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash via the south exit doors, police said.

Contact Montgomery Township Detectives at 215-362-2301 with any information on the robbery or individual.

No one was injured, according to Lt. Gerry Dougherty of Montgomery Township Police.

and that's what those PENNDOT signs installed all over 309 should be broadcasting, What do they have on them? Wipers on? It's raining...

There should be a 309 emergency response system.... All jurisdictions park all there cars on 309 and wait for the actors to drive by. I'm guessing that the bad guys aren't smart enough to leave from a different way then they came in.

You may want to check previous mug shots posted on "patch" this shouldn't be difficult. Remember playing the match game with picture cards? The answer is there. Good luck.

And what do you suggest the message should be? Was there any description in the article about the getaway vehicle? Any vehicle color, make, model, or type? If there was, then perhaps I would agree with you and the signs would display information similar to an AMBER Alert. Otherwise, your suggestion implies that people should be taking their eyes off the road to stare into other vehicles to see if the driver matches the physical description of the suspect. That would accomplish nothing except for possibly causing an accident or a lot of hassles for any one of 10,000 guys who match that same generic description.

The only thing that would do is leave a whole bunch of municipalities along the 309 corridor without adequate police protection for the rest of their communities. Again, where in this article does it even say the suspect left in a vehicle? It merely states that he "fled via the south exit doors." And remember that the majority of Route 309 (except for "localized" sections) is under the jurisdiction of the PA State Police so the municipalities would likely not have a primary role.
