Black Bear Spotted Twice in Montgomery Township

Montgomery Township Police received two reports of a black bear sighting on Tuesday. The bear is believed to be non-aggressive.

Police and game commission officials are investigating a pair of black bear sightings in Montgomery Township that occurred on Tuesday.

The first sighting was reported at 4:13 a.m. near the intersection of County Line Road and Summer Ridge Road, according to the Reporter, and the second sighting occurred in the early afternoon, as the bear walked out of – and then back into – the tree line at PineCrest Country Club, according to MontcoAlerts.

The bear is believed to be non-aggressive, according to reports, but officials are warning residents to not feed or approach the animal. Instead, residents are urged to contact police if they happen to spot the bear.
