Copper Thieves Strike Inglewood Elementary

The burglary occurred sometime between 3 p.m. on July 4 and 6 a.m. on July 5

Towamencin Township Police are investigating the a reported burglary of Inglewood Elementary School, in which thousands of dollars worth of copper and metal were removed from the property.

According to the police report, the burglary occurred sometime between 3 p.m. on July 4 and 6 a.m. on July 5. The report states that entry was gained in an unsecured area that is currently under construction, police said.

Items that were stolen include:

  • Ten 20-foot-long copper pipes,
  • 18 brass ball vales,
  • 100 copper fittings, and
  • five reels of 2,500 foot solid #12 copper wire.
The reels of copper wire alone are valued at $1,200, but the value of the other items is still being determined.
