Distraction Burglary Reported on Green Lane Road in Towamencin

Police said a man spoke with a homeowner on the 1500 block of Green Lane Road about fence repair. The homeowner then saw a second man in his driveway and later found his office in disarray.

Towamencin Township Police said a distraction burglary occurred on Green Lane Road.
On Sept. 6 at 1:16 p.m., a resident on the 1500 block of Green Lane Road answered the door to find a man who spoke to him about painting and repairing a fence at the rear of his property, police said.
The resident and the man walked back to the fence to discuss the situation, police said. As they walked back toward the house, the resident saw another man standing in the driveway of the home, police said.
After re-entering his home, the resident found items out of place and moved around in his home office, police said. It is unclear at the time of the report if items were taken, police said.
The two individuals were described as white men in their 30s, police said.
Police spoke with a neighbor who reported seeing a suspicious pickup truck enter the driveway of the home, police said. The truck is described as a full-size black GMC or Chevrolet pickup, police said.
Police remind residents to be suspicious of unsolicited repairmen and to immediately contact police.
