Driver's Leg Amputated at Scene of Northeast Extension Crash

The driver was trapped for two hours after his truck overturned on the Northeast Extension at Lansdale.

A truck driver had his leg partially amputated Tuesday after a crash that closed the Northeast Extension for four hours. 

According to NBC10, the driver was trapped for hours in the truck cab after the vehicle overturned near Route 363 in Lansdale. Crews worked for two hours to rescue the man and eventually had to amputate his leg on the scene.

The crash, which happened around 4:30 p.m., closed the road for four hours, 6 ABC reported.

The identity of the man was not released. He was taken to Abington Memorial Trauma Center for treatment, NBC10 said.
