Drunk Lansdale Man Won't Stay in Home, Hides Behind Pole, Gets Arrested

Alfredo Vera, of West Fourth Street, had to sober up in jail

Alfredo Vera, 36, of the unit block of West Fourth Street, Lansdale, spent the early morning hours of May 6 in s jail after being taken into custody for public drunkenness.

Police said at 1:35 a.m. on May 6, police officers heard a man and woman arguing on the front lawn of their home on the unit block of West Fourth Street.

Officers spoke with the couple, who identified themselves as husband and wife, police said.

The wife said her husband, Vera, came home intoxicated, police said. She tried to persuade him to go into the house, but he refused and an argument began, police said.

Police were able to pursuade Vera to go inside his home, police said.

Around 2:35 a.m., police were flagged down on North Broad Street by a male relative of the wife. The man asked police to go back to the Vera home, due to Vera exiting the house, police said.

A short time later, police found Vera hiding behind a telephone pole on the 200 block of North Broad Street, police said.

Vera, who showed signs of intoxication, was taken into custody for public drunkenness and lodged and Lansdale Police Department until sober.
