Drunken Colmar Man Collides into Window of Ambler Store, Collapses on Sidewalk: Police

Andrew Armstrong, 26, of Old Bethlehem Pike, was charged with resisting arrest and public drunkenness Aug. 27, police said, after he allegedly collided into the front window of Deck's Hardware.

Ambler Borough Police said a Colmar, Hatfield Township man was so intoxicated that he ran and collided into the front window of Deck's Hardware, causing it to crack and causing him to collapse on the sidewalk.
Police said Andrew Armstrong, 26, of the 900 block of Old Bethlehem Pike, Colmar, Hatfield Township, was arrested Aug. 27 at 2:28 a.m. for resisting arrest, public drunkenness and criminal mischief, police said.
Armstrong was seen by police running on N. Main Street, and then allegedly colliding into the front window of Deck's Hardware, police said. The window cracked and Armstrong collapsed to the sidewalk, police said.
While police were gathering information on Armstrong, they detected an odor of alcohol coming from him, police said. Armstrong allegedly had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, police said. 
He was transported back to Ambler Borough Police and later arraigned before District Judge Deborah Lukens, who released Armstrong on his own recognizance, police said.
