DUI Charges Pending Against Upper Gwynedd Man: Cops

Whitpain Township Police said Scott Sampson Jr., 29, of Ryans Run, allegedly drove up over a curb and onto a lawn on Woodford Way Aug. 4.

Whitpain Township Police said an Upper Gwynedd man was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when he crashed into the front yard of a home on Woodford Way Aug. 4.

DUI charges will be filed against Scott Sampson Jr., 29, of the 2000 block of Ryans Run, upon receipt of blood results, police said. Traffic violations will also be filed against Sampson Jr., police said.

On Aug. 4, at 2:03 a.m., Whitpain officers were called to a car crash at the intersection of Daws Road and Woodford Way, where they found a black Hyundai partially in the driveway of a home on the 1600 block of Woodford Way, police said.

The alleged driver of the Hyundai was Sampson Jr., police said, who told police he was driving west on Daws Road and attempted to make a left onto Woodford Way. Sampson Jr. told police that he drove up over the curb and onto the lawn of a home on the 1500 block of Woodford Road, police said.

Police said Sampson Jr. appeared intoxicated and was taken to Mercy Suburban Hospital for blood testing for BAC. He was later released to his mother.
