Fairmount Responds to Chimney Fire

A small chimney fire on Oakland Avenue caused no damage or injuries. Also, Montgomery Township responded to an electrical fire call.

Fairmount Fire Co. investigated a minor chimney fire at 97 Oakland Ave. Monday night. The homeowner reported seeing flames and smoke from the chimney.

There was no smoke damage, fire damage or injuries, according to an official at the scene.

Fairmount received the call at 9:33 p.m. The investigation wrapped up at around 11 p.m.

Fairmount Fire Police blocked off Oakland Avenue between Laurel Lane and East Main Street.

In additional fire news, the Fire Department of Montgomery Township responded to an electrical fire call at around 9:30 p.m. at Roberts Lane and North Line Street.

According to fire police Captain Rob Bailey, there was no incident; rather, wind had hit some wires.
