Fireside Beating Victim Released from Hospital

The police investigation continues.

Dave Rogers, the Lansdale resident who was during St. Patrick's Day festivities early Sunday, has been released from Abington Memorial Hospital.

Rogers, who on Sunday posted a picture to his Facebook that showed his face badly bloodied and bruised, was discharged from the hospital Monday evening, according to an on-duty nurse at the hospital.

Upper Dublin Police have not yet released official information about the incident as an investigation is ongoing, but detectives did say that police were called to the Fireside at 1:12 a.m. on Sunday. Detectives also told Patch they were speaking with witnesses and reviewing video surveillance from the Fireside to try and identify any suspects involved.

Police said that previous media reports that suggested Rogers was 20 years old were incorrect.

Fireside General Manager Vincent Vusco told Patch that management and employees are cooperating with Upper Dublin Police, and did not want to release further details about the incident because of the ongoing investigation.

However, Vusco did say that he believed security and management worked as quickly as possible to resolve the situation.

"This is an isolated incident and we are shocked and appalled that it occurred, as we are a family restaurant," Vusco said.

A patron who was at the Fireside at the time of the incident and who spoke on the condition of anonymity told Patch that the incident did not cause a commotion, and did not occur in the main bar area. It wasn't until the patron left the bar's bathroom and saw police officers in the kitchen that anything appeared odd, the patron said.
