Former Teacher Faces 70 Felonies at Tuesday Preliminary Hearing

The preliminary hearing for Nicole Jacques remains scheduled for Tuesday at 1 p.m. before District Judge Kenneth Deatelhauser.

Jacques, 25, of Hatfield Village Apartments in Hatfield Township, faces 70 felony charges related to an alleged sexual relationship she had with a 15-year-old male student.

Jacques, police said, was formerly employed as a teacher at  in Towamencin. Police said 

She is being represented by attorney Matthew Wilkov, of firm Rubin, Glickman, Steinberg and Gifford in Hatfield Township, according to court documents.

Jacques is free on bail, after posting 10 percent of $50,000 cash bail on March 27.

Jacques is charged with 20 counts of statutory rape, 20 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, 10 counts of unlawful contact with a minor and 20 counts of a corruption of minors, according to her Montgomery County criminal docket sheet.

On Feb. 10, 2012, police received a report from a Hatfield Township resident regarding excessive and inappropriate communication between his 15-year-old son and his son’s former school teacher, identified as Jacques, police said.

Police said an investigation revealed that Jacques met with the boy while she worked as a teacher at  in Towamencin.

Jacques resigned from her position in 2011, police said.

Following her resignation, she continued communication with the youth, and escalated to a sexual relationship, police said.

The victim disclosed numerous sexual encounters he had with Jacques, which occurred in her apartment in Hatfield, police said.

Police determined that Jacques had not engaged in any criminal behavior with the boy while employed as a teacher at Calvary Baptist School, police said.

Calvary Baptist School cooperated with the investigation and handled the matter professionally, police said.

Jacques has one traffic violation on her record from September 2009 in Upper Gwynedd where she pleaded guilty to not following a traffic control device, according to Montgomery County public court records.
