Franconia Lakeside School Gym Teacher Fired for Allegedly Putting Camera in Bathroom

Police said Calon Irvin James Wright, 36, of West Mount Vernon Street, Lansdale, has been summoned for invasion of privacy charges, for allegedly filming his coworkers in the staff bathroom at Vantage Academy.

A Lansdale man, who is a gym teacher at a Lakeside school in Franconia, was charged via summons with invasion of privacy and attempted invasion of privacy Tuesday by Souderton Police.

Police said Calon Irvin James Wright, 36, of West Mount Vernon Street, allegedly admitted to fastening a Vivitar video camera under a chair in the bathroom of Vantage Academy School on Schoolhouse Road, according to Matt Coughlin of PhillyBurbs.com.

Authorities recovered an SD card that allegedly shows Wright installing the camera, as well as the woman who discovered the camera, according to Coughlin. The woman was clothed the entire time.

Wright has been fired and was escorted off school grounds by police, according to the article.

A preliminary hearing is set for April 4 before District Judge Kenneth Deatelhauser, according to court records.
