Lower Salford Man ID'd as Driver Killed in Harleysville Crash

Christopher Detweiler, 42, of Morris Road, was flown to Hahnemann Hospital for treatment, but succumbed to injuries in the accident Friday afternoon

Lower Salford Police have identified the driver killed in an accident in Harleysville Friday afternoon as Christopher Detweiler, 42, of the 100 block of Morris Road, Lower Salford.

A Harleysville resident died as a result of a one-car crash on Quarry Road near  Stover Road Friday afternoon.

According to Breaking News Network, one person was trapped in a vehicle.

A driver was rescued from a vehicle, and flown by Mid-Atlantic MedEvac 3, according to BNN.

According to The Reporter, the driver was flown to Hahnemann Hospital, but did not survive injuries sustained from the crash.

The driver was north on the 500 block of Quarry Road around 4:30 p.m., when the vehicle crossed into the other lane and hit a tree, according to the article.

Police are withholding identity of the driver.

Harleysville EMS, Harleysville Community Fire Co. and Lower Salford Township Police responded to the scene.
