Historic Towamencin Home Flooded by Vandals, Police Say

The Darmol House on the grounds of Holiday Inn on Sumneytown Pike sustained severe water damage to its interior.

A historic property on the grounds of Holiday Inn in Kulpsville was vandalized this week.

Towamencin Township Police said there was an unauthorized entry and vandalism to the unoccupied Darmol House at 1750 Sumneytown Pike.

Police said the incident occurred prior to noon May 26.

Police said someone entered the building and turned on all the water faucets, causing extensive water damage to the inside.

Several of the ceilings collapsed and the floors warped from the overflowing water, police said.

There were no signs of forced entry, police said.

Police had no estimate for damages.
