Female resident said to be "okay" after physical struggle with black male suspect
Update, 4:23 p.m. Monday, May 21:
Chief David Duffy said they have not found a suspect. He said the investigation is still active.

Upper Gwynedd Township Police are looking for a man who kicked in the front door of an occupied West Point residence at about 11:15 a.m. Monday in an attempt to burglarize the home.
Upper Gwynedd Township Police Chief David Duffy said the resident struggled with the suspect inside the home, "particularly in the kitchen area," and was eventually able to grab a knife, at which point the suspect fled the residence through a rear door.

A K9 unit from Whitemarsh Township was still assisting Upper Gwynedd police in a search for the suspect early Monday afternoon. Whitpain Township and police also assisted at the scene.
The suspect is a described as a black male of medium build, about six feet tall, wearing a black shirt and dark blue jeans. He was wearing what Duffy described as a "stocking" over his face when he broke into the residence, which is located next door to the His & Hers Hair Salon in West Point.
A unit from the was called to the scene to evaluate the victim, who Duffy said was not injured and was "okay."
