Jaws of Life Used to Remove Teen From Car

A young girl lost control of her Ford on Troxel Road during a heavy downpour Tuesday evening and crashed into a tree

A teenage girl behind the wheel of a gold Ford sedan lost control of her car southbound on Troxel Road during a heavy downpour Tuesday evening and slammed into a pine tree, according to reports.

According to officials, the teen was trapped in her vehicle and Towamencin Vol. Fire Co. and crews extricated her via the Jaws of Life through the driver’s side doors.

The accident occurred in front of 870 Troxel Road in Towamencin, near Pickwick Lane. Robert Voeks is the homeowner at 870 Troxel Road.

According to Brian Bingaman of The Reporter, the girl was transported via Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale to Abington Memorial Hospital for treatment after her car slid 40 feet off the road.

According to The Reporter, Voeks has lived on Troxel Road since 1966 and has seen many a serious accident.

Since the realignment of Troxel Road, it has become somewhat of a speedway, Voeks was quoted in The Reporter.

I saw the car going a little fast, and heard a skid. I got on the phone right away and called 9-1-1

The name of the driver was not released Tuesday evening.
