Lansdale Man Charged with Assault for Beating Up Man Inside Bar, Pulling Knife: Police

Jose Aurelio Vasquez, 40, of Fairview Avenue, allegedly punched a man inside Third and Walnut Bar Dec. 23 and later allegedly accosted him at knifepoint on North Broad Street, per reports.

A Lansdale man is free on $10,000 unsecured bail after allegedly assaulting a man inside Third and Walnut Bar and then pulling a knife on him later on North Broad Street, police said.
According to The Reporter, Jose Aurelio Vasquez, 40, of Fairview Avenue, is charged with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault, misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person, summary harassment and summary disorderly conduct.
Police said Vasquez and the alleged victim got into an argument inside the bar on Dec. 23 over a text message from the alleged victim's ex-girlfriend, per the report. The alleged victim confronted Vasquez over the text, and when shown proof that Vasquez had been talking bad about him, the alleged victim was at the receiving end of a punch allegedly from Vasquez, police said.
The owner of the bar, per the report, broke up the fight and ejected the alleged victim from the bar. The alleged victim was then accosted by Vasquez minutes later on North Broad Street, who allegedly pulled a curved folding knife out, per the report.
The alleged victim fled to a nearby Lukoil and called 911. Police responded and later interviewed the bar owner and reviewed surveillance footage, per the report. Vasquez was picked up at his home and denied the incident, per the report.
