Lansdale Man Charged with Child Rape

Police said Lafonsa Perry, 22, had a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old girl

Police have charged a Lafonsa Perry, 22, who lives near , with child rape, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault under 13, indecent assault under 16, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.

The 12-year-old female victim told Mission Kids and police that she smoked weed with, and engaged in intercourse with, 22-year-old Lafonsa Perry, police said.

Perry was arrested on April 23. Charges were filed March 29, according to court documents.

On Jan. 19, 2012, Lansdale Police began an investigation as a result of a complaint file by a concerned adult relative of a 12-year-old female, police said.

The relative reported finding disturbing posts on the 12-year-old victim’s Facebook page that began when the child was 11 years old, police said.

The posts between the child and what the investigation revealed to be Perry, discussed topics of a sexual nature including engaging in sexual intercourse, police said.

A forensic interview by Mission Kids was conducted with the child who stated she had been provided with marijuana by Perry while in his bedroom, which she described the layout to, police said.

She told the interviewers that she and Perry engaged in sexual intercourse, police said.

Evidence gathered during the investigation resulted in a search warrant being served and executed on Perry's house.

Seized in the Perry's bedroom were a small amount of marijuana, a digital scale along with other related paraphernalia, police said. 

Perry was arraigned before , who set bail at $50,000 cash, police said. 

Perry was taken to Montgomery County Correctional Facility after failing to post bail, police said.

A preliminary hearing date before Borek is set for May 3 at 11:15 a.m. 

Perry has one active case already with Lansdale Police, filed Feb. 3, 2012.

In that case, Perry is charged with prowling at night, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct of  a hazardous or physical nature, defiant trespassing and tampering with property, according to court records.

A preliminary hearing on those charges is set for May 10 before Borek at 12:45 p.m.

Perry has four other active non-traffic court cases, according to county records.

The most recent one occurred on Feb. 19 for a parking violation in Lansdale. The county court system is awaiting a plea from Perry.

On Feb. 17, Perry was charged with the same violation in Lansdale. The county is awaiting a plea.

On Feb. 13, Perry was charged a third time for illegal parking in Lansdale. The county is awaiting a plea.

The fourth violation was from March 7, 2006 in Lansdale, when Perry was a juvenile, for disorderly conduct with possession, according to court records. The county is awaiting a plea.
