Lansdale Police Thank Outgoing Councilmen for Moving Department 'Forward and Upward'

Led by Chief Robert McDyre and Sgt. Alex Kromdyk, Lansdale Police were present Wednesday night to honor Matt West, Dan Dunigan and Mike Sobel with special commendations.

As Lansdale's bravest flanked three men of honor Wednesday night, Lansdale Police Sgt. Alex Kromdyk took the podium inside the meeting room at North Penn's Educational Services Center in Lansdale—which serves as the temporary meeting place for Lansdale council—and prepared to read a heartfelt thanks to outgoing Councilmen Matt West, Dan Dunigan and Mike Sobel.
"One of my favorite quotes regarding leadership comes from Max De Pree: 'The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality; the last is to say thank you.' Mr. West, Mr. Dunigan, Mr. Sobel—you three councilmen ... understood the reality of our department's difficulties," Kromdyk said. "When you entered office, we were understaffed and lacked equipment we needed to serve the people of Lansdale to the best of our ability."
Today, he said, the police force no longer struggles to answer police calls. Today, the force can seek out criminals with its manpower and tools and hold them accountable in the courts.
"The leaders of the police are here tonight to say 'thank you.' Thank you for helping us move forward and upward, and thank you for giving us the opportunity to fight the good fight for the people of Lansdale," he said.
