Lansdale Teen Charged in Alleged Sale of Pot Near Penndale Middle School

Robert DeWayne Weyant, 19, of Woodland Drive, was allegedly seen selling marijuana under surveillance. A search warrant of his home seized one ounce of marijuana and a digital scale.

Lansdale Police have arrested and charged a Lansdale teenager with drug felonies for allegedly selling marijuana at his Woodland Drive home, located across from Penndale Middle School.

Robert DeWayne Weyant, 19, is charged with three felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, three misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, three misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, two misdemeanor counts of receipt in commerce and three misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana, police said.

Lansdale Police received information that Weyant was involved in the sale of marijuana, police said. In February 2013, Lansdale Police officers under the Montgomery County District Attorney's Local Drug Task Force conducted surveillance on Weyant at his home, police said.

Police said Weyant was allegedly see making a drug transaction with another person. Lansdale Police recovered the drugs Weyant allegedly sold and found it to be marijuana, police said.

In March 2013, Lansdale Police officers conducted surveillance again on Weyant at his home, and saw him make another alleged drug sale with another person, police said. The drugs in this transaction were marijuana, police said.

On March 15, 2013, Lansdale Police Task Force officers, Lansdale detectives and Lansdale patrol officers served a search warrant on Weyant home.

The search seized one ounce of marijuana, paraphernalia and a digital scale, police said. 

Weyant was arraigned before District Judge Andrea Duffy of Montgomery Township on the following charges, who set bail at 10 percent of $50,000, according to court records.

Weyant was taken to Montgomery County prison after failing to post bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for April 9 before District Judge Harold Borek at Lansdale District Court.
