Local Woman Defrauded Elderly Residents, Commonwealth: DA

Christina Huskin, of Red Hill, allegedly purchased personal items with Park Avenue Manor Trust Fund money, and illegally received unemployment benefits.

A Red Hill woman is facing multiple theft charges after allegedly stealing money from an independent care living facility trust fund,and illegally receiving unemployment compensation from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.
Christina Huskin, 34, allegedly stole from Park Avenue Manor in Sellersville between November 2011 and December 2012 by using the group’s trust fund to purchase gift cards, which she allegedly used to make personal purchases and Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Fyre Body Arts, according to Ferman. 
The total amount stolen from the trust fund is $1,670.96, Ferman said.
Additionally, Huskin allegedly applied for unemployment compensation benefits in September 2009 and March 2012, stating that she was not working, Ferman said. Detectives discovered that Huskin was allegedly working at the Pennsburg Assisted Care home from September 2009 to January 2013.
According to Ferman, Huskin fraudulently received $8,267 in unemployment benefits from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.   
Huskin’s bail was set at $25,000, unsecured.
