Man Robbed at Gunpoint in Hatfield Borough Park

Hatfield Township Police are investigating a robbery at gunpoint that occurred under a bridge in Centennial Park in Hatfield Borough Wednesday night

Hatfield Township Police are searching for a man in his 30s who robbed a man at gunpoint of cash and property under a bridge in Centennial Park in Hatfield Borough Wednesday night.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, 6 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 150 to 200 pounds, wearing blue jeans, tan work boots, and a black-hooded sweatshirt, police said. His face was covered by a black bandana, police said.

On Jan. 23, at 6:55 p.m., Hatfield Township Police responded to an armed robbery dispatch at Centennial Park on Cherry Street in the borough.

An investigation revealed the victim was walking in the park, when the man was grabbed from behind, police said.

The suspect displayed a handgun and forced the victim under a bridge in the park, where he robbed the victim of cash and property, police said.

A struggle ensued, and the victim was able to get away and call 9-1-1, police said.

The suspect fled on foot and was not located by responding officers, police said. A Montgomery Township Police K9 unit assisted at the scene.
