Man Wanted in ShopRite Theft, Assault Missing for Three Weeks

A reward is offered for the return of Garrett Libby, 23, of Quakertown, who is wanted by police for allegedly taking items from the store and then dragging an employee as he fled. Libby, an alleged heroin user, has been missing for three weeks.

The Quakertown man wanted by Hatfield Township Police for allegedly stealing from ShopRite and then dragging an employee as he fled in his SUV has been missing for more than three weeks, this according to a post from his mother on the "I Hate Heroin" community Facebook page.

A reward is in place for finding Garrett Thomas Libby, 23, according to the post left by Karen Libby on Thursday night.

Libby, of the 100 block of California Road, Quakertown, is facing charges of robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated assault by vehicle, simple assault, reckless endangerment, retail theft and receiving stolen property, police said.

Police said Libby allegedly stole several items from the Forty Foot Road ShopRite store on May 20, shortly before 7:32 p.m.

Libby is a heroin abuser, according to the post, and he needs help.

"As a lot of you are aware my son Garrett Thomas Libby has been missing for over three weeks. He is from the Quakertown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania area which is near Philadelphia. He is a Heroin addict and needs help. Garrett, is a wonderful son and I love him very much but I hate his new best friend named Heroin. This friend is not welcomed into our family and I am hoping that Garrett realizes what his friend is doing to us. If anyone sees him on the streets of Philadelphia or anywhere, please contact me. I am now offering a reward for any verifiable information regarding his whereabouts. Please PM me for reward information and please don't waste my time with information that cannot be verified. Please keep my son in your prayers and for his safe return. I miss him very much."

Libby’s Ford Explorer has Pennsylvania registration JBS-0429, police said. Libby is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds, police said.
