Maryland Man Charged With Alleged Pill Possession in Towamencin

Police pulled over a pickup truck that was over its weight on Sumneytown Pike. Officers allegedly found Jeffrey Allen Shore, 39, of Georgetown Road, with a fake driver's license and an unrestrained child in his truck.

A Maryland man who was driving a pickup truck over its weight on the Pennsylvania Turnpike was arrested and charged with possession of numerous pills and driving with a fake license, Towamencin Township Police said.
An unrestrained three-year-old child was also found in the vehicle.
Police said Jeffrey Allen Shore, 39, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license related to DUI, false identification to police, failure to use proper child restraint systems, and exceeding weight limits.
Shore was arraigned before District Judge Kenneth Deatelhauser in Souderton and released on ROR bail.
On Monday, at 9:36 a.m., a police Traffic Safety Unit officer saw a red Chevrolet 2500 pickup east on Sumneytown Pike that appeared overweight, police said. The vehicle was stopped at Sumneytown Pike and the I-476 overpass.
Shore, of Georgetown Road, allegedly told police he left his driver's license at home, police said.
Shore allegedly identified himself in writing as Myrl Shore with a date of birth different from his real birthdate, police said.
Police learned that Shore was not Myrl Shore and revealed his true identity, police said. It was discovered he did not have a valid driver's license, police said.
An adult female and unrestrained child were also in the truck, police said.
The truck was weighed and found to be over the limit by 1,700 pounds, police said.
Shore was also allegedly found in possession of about 408 prescription pills, including Oxycodone, Oxycontin, Acetaminophen and Alprazolam, police said.
