Montgomery Mall to Host National Police Week Event

Montgomery Township Police and other law enforcement officials will hold several demonstrations on Saturday.

Montgomery Township Police will celebrate the 50th anniversary of National Police week by joining other local law enforcement officials at a Montgomery Mall Police Week event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

According to the National Police Week website, the event was created through a presidential proclamation by John F. Kennedy in 1962, which designated May 15 as “Peace Officers Memorial Day.” The day and events throughout the week are designed to honor law enforcement officials that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

According to the Reporter, the Saturday event will feature Montgomery Township child identification fingerprinting, K-9 Unit demonstrations and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad robot demonstrations.
