Montgomery Man Hits Tree, Arrested for Suspicion of DUI

Danny Chiu, 34, of the 100 block of Gwynmont Drive, has charges pending results of blood testing

A Montgomery Township man was arrested for suspicion of DUI in a crash in Whitpain Township on Dec. 23 at 3:29 a.m.

Danny Chiu, 34, of the 100 block of Gwynmont Drive, left the roadway on the 500 block of Stenton Avenue and struck a tree, police said.

During the investigation, it appeared Chiu had been drinking, police said.

Blood was drawn for lab testing at Mercy Suburban Hospital, police said.

Marijuana and paraphernalia were also found on Chiu, police said.

Charges of DUI, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia are pending upon return of lab results, police said.
