New Hope Man Allegedly Sold Drugs Out of Hotel Room

Police seized 23 ounces of marijuana, $8K cash from hotel room of Aree Kamula Lamont, 34

A New Hope man was arrested, arraigned and imprisoned in lieu of $50,000 bail August 8 after he was allegedly caught by Towamencin Police running drug sales and smoking marijuana out of a Holiday Inn hotel room.

Aree Kamula Lamont, 34, last known address of the 2900 block of Comfort Road, New Hope, was charged with possession with the intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Lamont was arraigned before and committed to Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail, police said.

Towamencin Police responded to Holiday Inn, 1750 Sumneytown Pike, on Aug. 8 to investigate a suspicious subject occupying a hotel room, police said.

Hotel staff told police that marijuana use and possibly drug sales may have been taking place, police said.

Police made contact with Lamont, and discovered marijuana and a large amount of cash on him. He was subsequently arrested.

Police seized about 23 ounces of marijuana and about $8,000 cash during a search of the hotel room, police said.
