News Next Door: Urbany Waives Indecent Exposure Charges

Kenneth Urbany waived charges of indecent exposure and open lewdness at his preliminary hearing.

Kenneth Urbany, 63, of Lititz, has waived charges at his preliminary hearing in front of this earlier week. Urbany is charged with Indecent Exposure and Open Lewdness from an incident in February at the .

Urbany is accused of exposing himself in the family locker room of the YMCA on Friday, February 17.

Two complainants gave the Lower Gwynedd Police written statements in February about what they saw in the family locker room.

According to the affadavit of probable cause, the first complainant said she was in a changing stall with her daughters after a swim lesson and saw Urbany wandering around the locker room and randomly opening and closing lockers. She peeked through the crack in the stall while her daughters were changing to observe the defendant. She said the defendant grabbed the front of his ”speedo” bathing suit and pulled the front down, completely exposing his genitals.

The second complainant wrote in her written statement that when she walked into the family locker room, she saw the defendant standing in the corner by himself, looking around. He then turned around and she saw that he pulled his bathing suit down below his butt.

Lower Gwynedd Police brought Urbany back to the police station to give a statement. According to the affadavit, he stated, “I had my locker key in my swim suit. Reaching into the suit I did not feel the key where I had put it…But noticed it had slide to the front. I lowered the swim suit for a split second to get the key.”

The YMCA told police that Urbany is not a member at the YMCA, but a day member, meaning he pays $10 for each day he attends the YMCA.
