POLICE LOG: Lansdale man arrested on assault

Michael D. Rosenberger, 47, allegedly assaulted a woman and a Towamencin police officer

A Lansdale man, arrested during a separate warrant arrest, was charged with simple assalt, harassment by physical contact, recklessly endangering another person, disordelry conduct, criminal attempt to commit aggravated assault and resisting arrest, police said.

Police said Michael D. Rosenberger, 47, of the 1100 block of Columbia Avenue, was arrested on evidence of an assault at a home in Inglewood Garden Apartments in the 1100 block of Columbia Avenue.

Rosenberger was arraigned by District Judge Harold Borek and committed to Montgomery County Correctional Facility in liue of $25,000 bail.

Police said that on Feb. 23, both Rosenberger and Joseph Lee Lipare, 49, of the 400 block of Locust road, were involved in the assault.

Police arrested Rosenberger and Lipare following police response to a hang-up 911 calls at the home.

At 4:09 a.m., Towamencin Police responded to the residence at Inglewood Garden Apartments where a 911 call was made, according to the Montgomery County Emergency Communications Center.

The 911 operator reported a disturbance in the background, according to a press release.

Upon arrival, police heard loud talking and persons using profaniity at each other inside the home.

Police made contact with the three occupants of the residence and they explained they had been playing a video game and the noise was from that activity, police said.

Police investigaed further and found that Lipare, 49, of the 400 block of Locust Road, was wanted on warrant from Bethlehem City for theft. He was taken into custody and transported to Towamencin police headquarters, according to the press release.

At 5:30 a.m., police learned another male was at the same residence and was allegedly assaulting a female occupant through a text message sent to Lipare, police said.

Police returned to the home at Inglewood Gardens and observed evidence of assault on the female, police said.

Rosenberger was arrested and transported to police headquarters, police said.

At 7:57 a.m., Rosenberger, while in custody, allegedly became uncooperative and failed to comply with lawful direction, police said. He then became disruptive and resisted being subdued by police.

Rosenberger allegedly tried to strike one of the officers, police said. He physically struggled and then was physically restrained, police said.

Rosenberger was then charged with subsequent charges of criminal attempt to commit aggravated assault, harassment by phyical contact and resisting arrest, police said.

Lipare was turned over to Bethlehem City Police on the warrant.
