Quakertown Girl, 18, Killed in Hilltown Crash Sunday Morning

Police said extrication of Esthefania Jimenez Velez took more than an hour after the crash around 7 a.m. on Hilltown Pike near Callowhill Road.

Hilltown Township Police have identified the driver of a Mazda Tribute SUV who was pronounced dead at the scene in a crash Sunday morning on Hilltown Pike near Callowhill Road as Esthefania Jimenez Velez, 18, of Quakertown.
Police said Velez was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday northbound on Hilltown Pike, south of Callowhill Road. Police said the Mazda Tribute went off the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert of a driveway apron with the undercarriage.
The vehicle then rolled onto the driver's side and then struck a large tree with its roof, police said.
Extrication of Velez took more than an hour, police said.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash. Inclement weather was not a factor, police said.
