Quakertown Man Charged with Allegedly Concealing Loaded Firearm

Two men allegedly found by police engaged in sexual activity in a car in the rear parking lot of Holiday Inn in Towamencin resulted in one of them being arrested and charged for carrying a concealed weapon without a license.

Kevin Covaleski, 47, of the unit block of S. 11th Street, Quakertown, was taken into custody by Towamencin Police around 11:30 a.m. Jan. 24 and charged with firearms not to be carried without a license and disorderly conduct, police said.

Covaleski was arraigned by District Judge Harold Borek and released on $5,000 unsecured bail, police said.

Police investigated a suspicious occupied vehicle in the rear parking lot of the hotel at 1750 Sumneytown Pike, and found the occupants engaged in sexual activity, police said.

Covaleski allegedly ad a loaded .22-caliber handgun in his possession, located in the console of the vehicle, police said. Covaleski does not have a permit to possess a concealed firearm, police said.

The other occupant, Kyle Sterling, 58, of the 1200 block of Allenhurst Avenue, Ocean, NJ, was cited for disorderly conduct and released, police said.
