RadioShack Robbed at Montgomery Commons

Police said black male armed with gun made off with $200 cash and 30 cell phones

The store in the Montgomery Commons Shopping Center on Route 63 in Montgomery Township was robbed Wednesday night.

Montgomery Township Police responded to a report of a robbery at Radio Shack at around 8:19 p.m., police said.

The suspect entered the store and approached an employee. The suspect displayed a handgun and directed the employee to the storage room, police said.

Once there, the suspect filled a Radio Shack bag with cell phones, police said.

The suspect then left the storage room and headed for the register. Once there, he made the employee empty the money into the bag, police said.

The suspect made off with $200 cash and 30 cell phones, police said.

He fled on foot toward the parking lot of Retro Fitness, police said.

The robber is described as a black male with a light complexion, about 40 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a thin build.

He was wearing a black ski mask, a medium brown three-quarter-length hooded Carhartt jacket with the hood up, dark pants with the cuffs rolled up and dark shoes, police said.

RadioShack moved in December from Hillcrest Shopping Center to 1200 Welsh Road in Montgomery Commons, next to Retro Fitness.
