Ignited Rags Source of Franconia Woodworking Business Fire

Bob Keeler of The Souderton Independent reports the fire caused minor damage at Halkett Woodworking on Schoolhouse Road on Tuesday morning

A Franconia Township fire Tuesday afternoon at Halkett Woodworking at 50 Schoolhouse Road caused minor damage, according to Bob Keeler of the Souderton Independent.

The fire was contained to a sawdust collection system, according to the article.

Harleysville Community Fire Co. Deputy Chief Sam Pfister told Keeler that the fire started by rags ignited by hot embers. Those same rags blocked an intake in the collection system for sawdust from machinery, according to the article.
