Skateboarder Hit by Car in Towamencin

Towamencin Township Police are investigating the incident that occurred Tuesday night outside the 7-Eleven on Allentown Road.

A skateboarder of unknown age or gender was hit by a car outside the 7-Eleven on Allentown Road in Towamencin late Tuesday night and flown from the scene for treatment, according to authorities.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

A reader told Lansdale Patch that he was walking outside the 7-Eleven on Allentown Road near Valley Forge Road, when he heard a commotion at the intersection.

He witnessed one vehicle stopped in the middle of the intersection.

He said the car that hit the skateboarder was making a left onto Allentown Road from Valley Forge Road. The skateboarder was crossing Allentown Road, he said.

Towamencin Township Police, Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale and Towamencin Vol. Fire Co. responded to the scene.

According to The Reporter, the skateboarder hit the front of a blue Toyota, which sustained damage to the windshield. VMSC transported the skateboarder to Lansdale Hospital, where he or she was then flown for treatment.

Police told The Reporter the skateboarder was heading northbound on Valley Forge across Allentown and hit a car heading southbound from Valley Forge into a turn to go east onto Allentown.
