Teen Flown With Head Trauma After Running into Bush

Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale Battalion Chief confirms 15-year-old boy ran into a bush during horseplay with another friend over a skateboard

UPDATE FRIDAY, 7:02 P.M.

A 15-year-old boy was horsing around with another friend at Fourth Street Park in Lansdale over a skateboard, when he ran face-first into a bush, suffering significant facial trauma, according to Volunteer Medical Service Corps Battalion Chief Jonathan Detweiler.

Detweiler said the boy was airlifted via PennStar to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia with non-life-threatening injuries.

There are reports that the subject was a child who was playing tag in Fourth Street Park, ran into a bush and a branch impaled into his face.

Reports are Fourth Street Park was cordoned off due to the incident.

EARLIER STORY

PennStar landed at in Lansdale Friday evening to transport a subject with head trauma who reportedly walked into a tree at 351 E. Fourth Street in Lansdale, near Pacific Avenue, according to a Tweet from MontcoAlerts.

A female companion accompanied the subject on the flight to the Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania.

An age and gender of the victim is not known at this time.

and Lansdale Police assisted at the scene. Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale transported the victim from the scene of the incident to Weaver Field.

Fairmount Fire Co. Fire Police blocked Penn Street from Line Street to Park Drive.
