Teen Assaulted with Bat Outside Montgomery Mall

Police are seeking information on the two suspects who fled the scene

Police said a 15-year-old male was assaulted Saturday night outside at Montgomery Mall, and the two suspects fled the scene.

Police said the two suspects were occupying an older model tan or gold-colored SUV, possibly a Toyota 4-Runner four door, having a loud muffler and rear-mounted spare tire.

The suspects were driving around the mall property and stopped and engaged a group of juveniles standing on the sidewalk near Dick's Sporting Goods at 9:45 p.m. Saturday.

Police said the two suspects exited the vehicle, and the passenger was holding a dark-colored baseball bat.

The passenger confronted the 15-year-old male victim, police said. Words were exchanged, and the suspect struck the victim in the face with the bat, causing serious facial injuries, police said.

The suspects then got back into the car and fled the scene, police said.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where his injuries were determined to be serious, police said.
