Telford Woman Waives Hearing on Heroin Possession Charges

A Telford woman who was arrested at a Towamencin Wawa with heroin in her possession waived her preliminary hearing at the court of District Judge Harold Borek Tuesday morning, and heads to Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas on three felony charges.

Stephanie Teufel, 23, of the unit block of Reliance Court, declined comment to a reporter from The Reporter following her hearing.

Teufel was arrested by Towamencin Police June 30 at around 5:17 p.m., along with Dianna Laird, 33, of the 100 block of Reliance Place, Telford.

Laird failed to appear at her preliminary hearing in July in Skippack and a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.

Teufel faces the following charges at her arraignment:

  • Felony possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Receipt in commerce of a controlled substance
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Felony criminal conspiracy of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
  • Felony criminal use of a communication facility

This is Teufel's first criminal offense in Montgomery County.

On June 30, at around 5 p.m., police responded to Wawa for a report of suspicious circumstances.

Upon arrival, police met with the store manager who told police she went to the bathroom and found Laird sitting on the floor of the stall with her back against the door, police said.

A syringe, purse and another unidentified object were allegedly found next to Laird on the floor, police said.

The manager exited the bathroom and called police. An employee was positioned near the door to keep others out of the restroom.

Police found Teufel to also be in the bathroom. While talking with Teufel, police said she was under the influence of a controlled substance.

Teufel was found in possession of 111 individually-packaged bindles of suspected heroin, syringes, Q-Tips, tourniquet straps, empty clear bags and a plastic spoon, police said.

Laird was found in possession of two individually-packaged bindles of suspected heroin and a Xanax pill, police said.
