Three Arrested in Saturday Drug Raids

One property on West Hancock Street was found in squalor with two young children present during the raid

Lansdale Police conducted two drug raids Saturday that resulted in three arrests and seizure of suspected crack cocaine and marijuana.

The raids occurred at 39 E. Sixth Street and 34 W. Hancock Street.

Arrested including the mother-son duo of Robin Green, 41, and Marc Wallace, 20; and Darrell Fernandez, 27.

Living at Green and Wallace's apartment was a seven year old and a seven month old, police said.

Police said the department had received numerous reports involving street level drug dealing of crack cocaine and marijuana over the past two years.

Police officers, who were sworn as county District Attorney's Municipal Drug Task Force members, began a lengthy investigation in an attempt to track the source of the drug supply, police said.

34 W. Hancock Street

Police said an investigation revealed that street dealers were visiting the rear apartment of 34 W. Hancock Street to obtain their cocaine and sell it in various locations in Lansdale and the North Penn region.

Police said crack cocaine was cooked or manufactured on the property.

Green and Wallace were identified as potential suspects, police said. Surveillance was conducted on the property, along with controlled purchases from both Green and Wallace, police said.

At 6 a.m. Saturday, police and the North Penn Area Tactical Response Team executed a search warrant on the residence.

Seized were suspected marijuana and cocaine, two digital scales, hundreds of small, plastic Ziploc brand bags, crack pipes, razor blades, copper wadding and $465 in cash, police said.

Also seized were baking soda, which is commonlyused to cook cocaine, and a pot and bowl containing suspected crack cocaine residue, police said.

Two minors, aged seven and seven months old, who are related to Green and Wallace, were on location at the time of seizure, police said.

The living conditions were unsanitary and uninhabitable, due to the deplorable squalor of the apartment, police said.

Both children were turned over to relatives, police said. Details of the living conditions are being forwarded to the Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth Services, and to the Lansdale Borough Department of Code Enforcement.

Green and Wallace were each charged with one count of criminal conspiracy, one felony count of manufacturing/delivering/possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and one count of endangering the welfare of children, police said.

Both were arraigned before District Judge Harold Borek and taken to Montgomery County Prison after failing to post $75,000 bail, police said. 

The multi-use property at 34 W. Hancock Street also houses Enchanted Tails Pet Grooming Service. It is located between Broad Street and Green Street. According to county records, it is owned by Robert Miller of North Wales.

39 E. Sixth Street

Police said numerous citizens reported ongoing, suspicious activity, possibly drug related, at the first-floor apartment of 39 E. Sixth Street. 

The activity usually took place late at night where visitors stayed for a brief period of time, police said.

A confidential informant told a Lansdale Police Task Force Officer that a resident named Darrell Fernandez was involved in illegal drug sales, police said.

Police began surveillance of the residence and observed subjects entering and leaving a short time later, police said. Police arranged controlled purchases from Fernandez out of his apartment.

At 8:45 a.m. Saturday, police and the county Municipal Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on the residence.

Seized were suspected marijuana, $626 in cash, ledgers indicating a recorded history of drug sales and profits, hundreds of various sized plastic Ziploc brand bags and five pipes, police said.

Fernandez was charged with one felony count of manufacturing/delivering/possessing a controlled substance with intent to deliver, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, police said.

Fernandez was arraigned before District Judge Deborah Lukens and taken to Montgomery County Prison after failing to post $25,000 bail, police said.

The duplex is located between N. Broad Street and N. Chestnut Street. According to county records, the property is owned by Mahbuba Khanam and Mohammad Chowdhury.

Lansdale officers were assisted by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET).
