Towamencin Man Charged in Bloody Domestic Assault Heads to Trial

Robert Frank Schur, 41, of Main Street Apartments, allegedly beat up a woman inside an apartment at the complex on Nov. 17. He has a Protection From Abuse order against him.

A Towamencin Township man who allegedly beat up a woman in a bloody domestic assault at Main Street Apartments, and who had a Protection From Abuse order against him, heads to trial on charges of simple assault, harassment and violating said order after a preliminary hearing Dec. 12 in Lansdale District Court.
Robert Frank Schur, 41, will be arraigned in January in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court on the offenses.
Schur is free on $10,000 bail, per court records.
When Towamencin Township Police came upon the scene at 2:23 a.m. Nov. 17, they allegedly found Schur outside the apartment with blood on his nose.
Inside was a more gruesome scene: A woman was on the floor, in a prone partial fetal position, police said. Blood was smeared on the walls. Trails of blood were on the carpet, leading to the woman, police said.
A puddle of blood had pooled below her mouth and nose, police said.
As soon as police asked Schur what had happened, he allegedly became extremely aggressive. The aggression and belligerence increased as police continued the investigation, police said.
Schur allegedly pushed aside one of the officers in an attempt to leave the apartment, police said. He was further restrained by police as medics tended to the victim, police said.
Through the continued investigation, Schur's aggression and refusal to cooperate escalated, police said.
The woman was taken by Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale to Abington Health-Lansdale Hospital for treatment of her injuries, police said.
The active PFA prohibited Schur from contact with the woman, police said. Police said Schur allegedly assaulted the woman during an argument in the apartment.
In a separate incident, Schur was charged with assault and harassment for allegedly beating up a 26-year-old Schwenksville woman on July 4, 2013 on the 1100 block of Bridge Road, Skippack Township. He allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck, pushed her, hit her in the face and threw her to the floor, police said.
All charges were dismissed at a preliminary hearing in Skippack District Court.
Per court records, in another incident, Schur was denied in December for ARD in a March 2013 DUI arrest in Hatfield Township.
At present, Schur owes $2,843.07 to Main Street Apartments in real property, and lost a landlord-tenant hearing in December 2013, per court records.
