Towamencin Man Steals Snow Blower, Sells it on Craigslist, Police Say

Matthew Deshields, 24, of Finnel Drive, Towamencin, is accused of stealing his neighbor's Troy-Bilt snow blower from the back patio of a home on Pioneer Road.

A Towamencin man allegedly stole his neighbor's snow blower and then sold it on Craigslist, Towamencin Township Police said.
Matthew Charles Deshields, 24, of the 700 block of Finnel Drive, was arrested and later released pending issuance of a summons by Lansdale District Court on charges of theft and receiving stolen property, police said.
On Monday, a resident of the 1000 block of Pioneer Road contacted Towamencin Township Police to report a stolen Troy-Bilt brand snow blower valued at $400, police said. The snow blower was stolen from the back patio of the owner's home and was not able to be seen from the street, police said.
On Tuesday, police were informed by the alleged victim that he found a Craigslist ad where he suspected his snow blower was listed for sale, police said.
Police made contact with the seller, and a transfer of the snow blower was arranged, police said.
It was determined that the seller had allegedly purchased the snow blower earlier from Deshields, police said.
Police said Deshields had taken the snow blower from the Pioneer Road home.
Deshields' Finnel Drive home is in close proximity to the alleged victim's home, police said.
Deshields was taken into custody at his home.
