Towamencin Police Seek Help in Identifying Walgreen's Burglar

Surveillance footage from the store showed a man forcing entry through the front door, and he then went directly to the rear electrical room, where he cut wires and removed the keypad to the alarm system, police said.

The Towamencin Township Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying the man who burglarized the Walgreen's on Forty Foot Road late Saturday night.

On June 29 at 11:29 p.m., police responded to a report of a burglary in progress at Walgreen's. Upon arrival, police set up a perimeter and conducted a search of the area, but the man had already fled the area, the report states.

Surveillance footage from the store showed a man forcing entry through the front door, and he then went directly to the rear electrical room, where he cut wires and removed the keypad to the alarm system, police said. The man then attempted to gain access to the pharmacy area, but he was unsuccessful, according to the report.

Before fleeing the scene, the man also pulled out the phone and power cables of the ATM machine near the entrance, police said.

The man is described as wearing a dark blue or purple hooded sweatshirt, dark shorts, gloves and Nike sneakers. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Towamencin Township Police Department at 215-368-7606.
