Two Flown to Hospital from Salford Accident Sunday Morning

The two-car crash occurred on Sumneytown Pike, west of Longmill Road.

Two women were flown via PennStar to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest for treatment of injuries suffered in a crash Sunday morning in Salford Township.
Police said Carrie E. Murtagh, 40, of West Chester, was driving a 2014 Kia Forte westbound on Route 63/Sumneytown Pike, and Sandra Simmons, 40, of Emmaus, was east on Sumneytown Pike in a 2009 Dodge Caravan at 10:20 a.m. Sunday.
Murtagh allegedly crossed the double yellow lines west of Longmill Road, striking Simmons' Dodge in the front bumper, police said.
Extent of injuries were unknown, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
Pennsylvania State Police were assisted at the scene by Harleysville Area EMS, Skippack EMS, Harleysville Fire Co., Skippack Fire Co. and Upper Salford Fire Co.
