Upper Gwynedd Fire Rallies Around Young Lansdale Leukemia Fighter

The Upper Gwynedd Volunteer Fire Department brings back its hoagie sale for a special fundraiser for Lansdale teen Matthew Knoebel, who is battling leukemia at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

Be a hero and buy a hero from a hero.

Upper Gwynedd Volunteer Fire Department is putting all its support behind a Lansdale teenager and Penndale Middle Schooler, who is battling leukemia at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

The department is bringing back its hoagie sale as a special fundraiser for Matthew Knoebel, 13, on February 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hoagies will be sold until they are gone.

All proceeds go to Knoebel's family.

Hoagies will be sold for $5 each and there are three choices: ham, Italian and turkey. Condiments will be served on the side, including oil, vinegar and mayo.

Large orders must be placed by Feb. 8 by calling 215-699-5454 or faxing 215-661-1570.

Hoagies can be picked up at the department headquarters at 660 Garfield Avenue in West Point, Upper Gwynedd. And it's drive-through service too.

Volunteers for the sale and fundrasier can stop by the firehouse between 7 a.m. and noon Feb. 9.
