Upper Gwynedd Man Charged with Burglarizing Unfinished Development

An Upper Gwynedd man was arrested and charged by Towamencin Township Police for allegedly stealing construction goods from an unfinished development on Towamencin Avenue Saturday night.

Claudio Antonio Anlas, 50, of the 1100 block of Bloomfield Circle, is charged with felony burglary of an overnight accommodation, felony criminal trespassing and misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking, according to court records.

A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 29 at 9 a.m.

Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured on Jan. 20 by District Judge John D. Kessler in Abington and Anlas was released, according to court records.

Police said an officer on patrol at 9:53 p.m. January 19 on the 1000 block of Towamencin Avenue saw an unfamiliar vehicle parked next to the Manor Building of the Residences at Town Square. The community is under construction.

The officer then saw a man, identified as Anlas, allegedly exiting one of the buildings, police said.

Following an investigation, the officer learned that Anlas had allegedly entered the property unauthorized and was allegedly in the process of stealing construction goods, police said.

This is Anlas’ first criminal arrest in Montgomery County, according to court records.
