Cops: Woman With 61 Xanax Pills Tries to Steal $2,021 from Whitpain Kohl's

Kathleen Colson, 26, of North Wales, was jailed on felony retail theft charges.

A North Wales woman was jailed on $15,000 cash bail and charged with felony theft for allegedly attempting to steal $2,021.99 worth of merchandise from Kohl's Department Store in Whitpain, police said.

Whitpain Township Police reported last week that Kathleen Colson, 26, of the 600 block of East Walnut Street was also charged June 6 with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly having 61 Xanax pills in her possession, police said.

At 6:10 p.m. June 6, Whitpain Township Police were called to the store at 1301 Skippack Pike where Colson was detained for the alleged theft, police said.

During her arrest, Colson allegedly had 30 Xanax pills in her possession and another 23 pills hidden on her, police said. Police also found another eight Xanax pills allegedly in her purse, police said.

Colson was arraigned by District Judge Kenneth Deatelhauser on the charges, who also set bail, according to court records. Colson was taken to Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
