Democratic Majority Remains on Lansdale Council in 2014

Seven of nine councilors come January 2014 are Democrats.

In the unofficial wake of Tuesday's election, the Democrats in Lansdale Council remain in power come January 2014.
Prior to the Primary and General Election, Lansdale Borough Council had two Republicans and one Independent on its nine-member board: Mike Sobel and Dan Dunigan, and Jason Van Dame, respectively.
Now, with the election of Democrats Liz Troy and Leon Angelichio in Ward Three and retention of Democrat Mary Fuller in Ward One, seven Democrats will be on council. Tom Work will be the sole Republican, in Ward Two. Van Dame won his seat back in the election.
Outside of council, a Republican maintained the mayorship in Lansdale and another Republican took control of tax collector.
The next election that could turnover control back to the Republicans won't be until 2015.
