Florist, Real Estate Agent Leading Charge for 311 Arts Capital Campaign

A fundraising effort is being pursued via Philadelphia firm Schultz & Williams.

The co-owner of Chantilly Floral and a RE/MAX real estate agent--both board members of nonprofit Discover Lansdale--are leading the charge to develop a fundraising campaign for 311 Arts, also known as 311 W. Main St. in Lansdale.
Charles Booz, of Chantilly Floral, and Richard Strahm are working with consultant Laura Burnham and contracted Philadelphia firm Schultz & Williams, to develop a capital campaign to raise the more than $4 million needed to bring the facility up to code to open for business.
Earlier this year, Lansdale Borough Council approved a $71,000 contract with Schultz & Williams for its services. Schultz & Williams are the capital campaign firm hired for the North Penn Commons Project as well. That project has received $11.6 million in low-income housing credits over a 10-year period.
Strahm, vice chairman of the Economic Development Committee, reported at the committee meeting Monday that the capital campaign committee continues to meet with the firm.
"This is not a small project. There is a lot of information gathering," Strahm said. "We have met with the architect and gone over a more detailed plan."
Strahm said the campaign is in the "fact finding stage."
"We are in the fact finding stage to see how to best put together a capital campaign," he said.
